Young girl no match for mall security

A 14-year-old girl was caught shoplifting at Stonestown Mall on Thursday, police said.

The young girl entered a store in the mall around 4 p.m. and began placing items into her bag, cops said. She then left the store without paying.

A 22-year-old security guard was kicked in his attempt to apprehend the girl, police said.

After withstanding the kick, the security guard detained the girl until police arrived, they said.

The stolen goods were returned to the store and the security guard refused treatment for his leg, cops said.
