You Me At Six singer ruffles Noel Gallagher’s feathers while recording new album

Ruffling the refined feathers of ex-Oasis mastermind Noel Gallagher — not exactly the best way to announce that you’re in a Los Angeles studio, completing your new album. But that’s how English You Me At Six singer Josh Franceschi stumbled onto the pop-culture radio recently, by tweeting about new Gallagher solo material he was overhearing while recording the band’s new “Sinners Never Sleep” at The Sound Factory.

The usually secretive Gallagher was, to put it mildly, unamused, and Franceschi’s wrists grew red from all the cease-and-desist slapping. But at least his own news got out — the hook-shrewd punk outfit is back to prove why they won Kerrang’s Best British Band award.

“Sinners” hits shelves through Virgin on Jan. 24, with a first single called “Loverboy” already making the rounds. And they’ll be previewing the rest of the record next Nov. 2 at The City’s Regency Ballroom (

And other stars besides Gallagher dropped by the Sound Factory — Bring Me The Horizon’s tattooed tough guy Oli Sykes guests on “Bite My Tongue,” and Parkway Drive’s Winston McCall pops up on “Time Is Money.”

You Me At Six was also just named Future Flames Ambassadors by Coca-Cola, a presenting partner of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. Not sure what that means, exactly, but it sure sounds impressive, don’t it?
