Yee moves to make white-pages delivery optional 

California could become the largest jurisdiction to give telephone customers the choice of whether to receive the white pages phone directory. Leland Yee, the state senator from San Mateo and San Francisco is making the move as part of a green initiative. “The requirement that phone companies must deliver the white pages comes from an era before the Internet and other means of obtaining phone numbers,” Yee said.
