Workshops highlight Small Business Week

With high unemployment and declining sales, needless to say it’s been a rough two years for small businesses in San Francisco.
But in these days of doom and gloom, San Francisco’s Office of Small Business is here to help.

May 15-21 is Small Business Week in San Francisco, a partnership to support local merchants through educational and networking events. It is part of a national celebration of the contribution of small businesses and entrepreneurs. San Francisco takes great pride in being the home to over 75,000 small and new startup businesses, according to the Office of Small Business.

Aside from networking opportunities, there is also Shop Your Neighborhood event on May 15 where residents are encouraged to shop their neighborhood stores.

In partnership with San Francisco Small Business Week, local merchants are celebrating by providing discounts, in-store demonstrations, sidewalk sales and other exciting activities, according to the Office of Small Business.
