Workers injured preparing for TI music fest

Three workers were hurt while setting up for the Treasure Island Music Festival on Thursday afternoon and transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The set up will have minor delays, but should not affect the opening of the weekend show, according to Allen Scott with Another Planet, the promoter of the music festival.

The three men were helping set up a stage when the hydraulics that lift the roof failed and it came crashing down.

“The men jumped of the stage when the roof fell,” he said. “As a result, they hurt their ankles. They were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.”

Treasure Island Music Festival kicks off at 12 p.m. Saturday and features performances by LCD Soundsystem, Deadmaus, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Miike Snow and Die Antwood, among dozens of others.
