Women staying in Holiday Inn awakened by burglar who tries to steal cellphone 

Three women staying at the Holiday Inn on Van Ness Avenue were woken up in the middle of the night by a creepy burglar who attempted to steal a cellphone, police said.

The women, two 24 and one 27, woke up in their hotel room in the 1500 block of Van Ness Avenue about 4:15 a.m. and saw a man who appeared to be in his 30s standing between their beds, police said.

The suspect grabbed a cellphone and fled the room, police said. The phone was found outside the victim’s room and recovered.

No arrest has been made.
