Women fighting in car almost run over cop

A vicious brawl between sisters in the front seats of a car in the Excelsior district nearly led to a cop being run over on Sunday, police said.

Officers said they were stopped at the intersection of Geneva Avenue and Mission Street around 2:15 a.m. when they heard yelling coming from a red Pontiac Grand Am. A female passenger was attacking the female driver.

The cops pulled over to assist. While being attacked, the driver accidentally let the car roll forward. The Pontiac grazed an officer that had just left his patrol car. The car then collided head-on with the patrol car, police said.

That wasn’t enough to stop the fighting. The women exited the car and the violent passenger kept trying to get at her sister. She even resisted cops.

The woman was arrested for battery and resisting arrest. She was cited and released at Ingleside Police Station.
