Woman's Visitacion Valley residence burglarized by man posing as house painter

A woman's Visitacion Valley residence was burglarized Monday by a man posing as a house painter, police said.

The suspect, who appeared to be in his 30s, walked into the 44-year-old victim's room in her residence in the 200 block of Wilde Avenue about 7:30 p.m. and told her he was painting the house, police said. The man then reportedly fled the scene.

Once he was gone, the woman noticed her back door was broken and she was missing a laptop and tablet.

The victim told police that there was construction going on in the lower unit of her residence.
