Woman's Richmond district home burglarized by con men posing as contractors

A 55-year-old woman was burglarized by several con men who posed as contractors in the Richmond district Saturday, police said.

One of the men approached the woman at her residence in the 100 block of Sixth Avenue about 2 p.m. and told her he was there to work on the backyard, police said.

The woman then escorted the man to the backyard when she heard her home alarm go off, signaling that the front door was open.

She reportedly locked the first suspect in the backyard and went back into the house. She saw two other men near her front door, who fled when she entered the house.

The third suspect fled as well and no arrests were made.

The victim lost cash, a cellphone and her purse in the robbery.
