Woman threatened at gunpoint in SoMa on Tuesday

A woman got quite a scare in South of Market on Tuesday night when a man pointed a gun at her and threatened to rob and kill her, according to an account she gave to The San Francisco Examiner that was confirmed by police.

The victim was walking down Seventh Street between Mission and Howard streets about 7 p.m. when a man walking in the opposite direction pulled a black handgun out of his sweatshirt pocket and pointed it about 6 inches from the woman's face, she said.

The man then said, ā€œIā€™m going to fucking kill you and take your money.ā€ But he then just walked away. The victim thought that was because there were so many other people out and about on the street.

She described the man as about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7 with a medium build and fair complexion. He was either bald or had a very short buzz cut. She said he was also wearing a gray sweatshirt.

The victim called 911 a few blocks away, and police confirmed the incident was reported.

The woman was really taken aback by the incident, noting that she had no electronics or phone in sight. She said she was really terrified after the incident and even worked from home the next day.
