Woman stabbed by neighbor during fight in SoMa

A woman was stabbed during a fight with her neighbor in the South of Market area on Saturday, police said.

The 53-year-old victim was involved in an argument with another woman, a 37-year-old woman who is reportedly the victim's neighbor, outside their residential building in the 200 block of Sixth Street about 8:40 p.m. when the argument turned physical and the two women began hitting each other.

At one point, the victim noticed the other woman had a knife and that she had been stabbed and slashed, police said. A witness at the scene broke up the fight.

The woman with the knife reportedly stayed on the scene when police arrived and she was arrested.
