Woman stabbed after bumping into passerby on Tenderloin street

A woman was stabbed in the chest late Tuesday night during an argument with someone she bumped into in the Tenderloin.

The 40-year-old woman was near Leavenworth and Eddy streets at 10 p.m. when she walked into another woman. The two began to quarrel, and at some point a sharp object punctured the victim's chest.

She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital in non-life threatening condition.

The other woman fled the scene before officers arrived.

She appeared to be in her mid- to late-20s, police said. No detailed description of her is available.
