Woman slashed, pepper-sprayed and bit in the Mission

A young woman on her way to BART was slashed in the back of the head with a knife, pepper-sprayed and bitten in the Mission early this morning, police said.

The 19-year-old victim was in the area of 17th and Mission streets on her way to the 16th Street BART station about 2:47 a.m. when another woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, slashed her in the back of the head with a knife, police said.

The attacker then pepper-sprayed the victim and bit her on the shoulder, police said, before fleeing in a white sedan.

The victim was hospitalized, but her injuries were not life-threatening.
