Woman scorned seeks murderous accomplice

An attempted killing in the Tenderloin on Tuesday night came with instructions, police said.

A 36-year-old woman gave a 40-year-old man the key to an apartment in the 600 block of Ellis Street at 9:45 p.m. and told him to kill a man who was inside, police said.

The victim, apparently ready for the attack, was armed with a kitchen knife when the assailant entered the apartment. But after a brawl, the suspect managed to swipe the knife from the victim and stab him, police said.

The injured victim fled the apartment and had the front door clerk call for help, police said. He was eventually transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, they said.

The suspects were arrested, police said.

The incident was the result of a domestic dispute, police Officer Albie Esparza said.
