Woman robs 8-year-old girl of cash she made selling candy in SF

This is worse than taking candy from a baby.

A woman robbed an 8-year-old girl of the money she made selling candy in the Western Addition on Monday, police said.

The victim was standing in front of a store at Divisadero and Eddy streets about 1:45 p.m. with some other kids. When her friends went inside the store and left her outside with the money, a woman in her 40s approached and asked the little girl for change for the bus.

The girl was about to make change for the woman when the woman grabbed the girl’s arm and twisted it, making her drop her bag of money, police said.

The woman then grabbed the bag and hopped on the bus. A report on KTVU.com showed surveillance footage of the possible suspect.

No arrest was reported as of Tuesday.

The girl was not seriously injured, police said.
