Woman robbed of phone in front of her children in the Tenderloin

A woman was robbed of her smartphone by two crooks right in front of her children in the Tenderloin on Thursday, police said.

The 41-year-old victim was standing on the corner of Geary and Hyde streets with her children about 9:20 p.m. when two women approached and tried to pull the victim's hooded sweatshirt over her head, police said.

The woman was frightened and tried to break free and as she did so the two crooks grabbed her smartphone and fled the scene.

The victim and her children were not injured in the ordeal.

No arrests have been made.
