Woman punched, assaulted with shoe and milk crate by noisy brute

A woman was brutally assaulted in the 100 block of Bryant Street on Wednesday by a man who was reportedly making a lot of noise, police said.

The 49-year-old victim confronted the man about 11:55 p.m. because he was being too loud, police said.

Instead of quieting down, the brute punched the woman in the face several times, hit her with a shoe and then slammed a milk crate on top of her head, police said. The lout then fled.

The woman sustained some bruising and swelling to her eye, but her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
