Woman may have bundled tenant’s belongings in blanket

She wasn’t Santa Claus.

A woman walking down the steps of a Richmond district apartment building had a bed comforter slung over her shoulder with bulky items in it Friday, a building tenant told police.

After seeing the woman, the tenant continued on to her apartment and found that someone had broken in via the fire escape and stolen a laptop and phone around 3:30 p.m.

The tenant ran out to the sidewalk to see if she could spot the woman, but she was gone, police said.

No arrest was reported.
