Woman hit by M train expected to survive

San Francisco Municipal Railway service was restored late Thursday after a light-rail vehicle struck and injured a 19-year-old woman in The City's Oceanview neighborhood.

The M-Ocean View line was disrupted for more than two hours when a train hit the woman at about 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of San Jose Avenue and Farallones Street.

Muni spokesman Judson True said the woman reportedly was under the front left corner of the train, but that the wheels did not make contact with her.

She was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

The M-line resumed service just before midnight. San Francisco police and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency are investigating the incident.
