Woman fights off attacker, keeps her purse

A woman who withstood a flurry of punches to her head while fighting off a Muni robber Friday won the battle for her purse, police said.

According to cops, the unidentified female thug tried to swipe the woman’s purse on a Muni bus in the area of Mission and 30th streets around 11 a.m., police said.

The woman refused to give in. While struggling over the purse, the victim and her attacker got off the bus, police said. The woman fell to the ground during the assault, and the suspect “repeatedly hit her in the head with closed fists.”

But the victim won the battle. The frustrated thug fled with several other suspects — and without the purse, police said.

Soon after, cops detained several suspects in connection with the attack. One of them was positively identified, police said.
