Woman burglarized in the Sunset while distracted by fake plumber

A 70-year-old woman was burglarized by two people Tuesday, one of which posed as a plumber to gain access to her residence in the Sunset district, police said.

A man aged 25 to 30 convinced the woman that he was a plumber and was at her residence in the 1700 block of 28th Avenue to fix leaky pipes about 1:45 p.m.

As the so-called plumber was checking the pipes in the kitchen and bathroom with the victim, an unknown suspect accomplice entered her bedroom and stole some watches.

The woman was not injured during the burglary.

The two suspects remain at large and a detailed description of them was not provided to police.
