Wine and art festival returns to Palo Alto this weekend 

Palo Alto residents and festival lovers are getting ready to stroll the streets in pursuit of the finer things when the annual Palo Alto Festival of the Arts, featuring more than 300 artists and crafts people, returns this weekend.

The Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce sponsors this two-day event expected to draw 150,000 people to the shady tree-lined streets of Palo Alto, according to MLA Productions, which coordinates the event.

The event features more than 30 musical acts on three stages, more than 40 Italian street artists, tons of food, micro-brewed beer andeven a sommelier that will discuss the various available fine wines.

Artists in glass, ceramic, jewelry, fine art, photography and more will be there.

"The chamber is so pleased to have this event," Sandra Lonnquist, president and CEO of the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce said. "We'll have premium wines and incredible art.''

The 26th annual Palo Alto Festival of the Arts runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on University Avenue between Webster and High streets.

Admission is free.
