Niners fans who are still without tickets to the NFC Championship Game on Sunday at Candlestick Park have a chance to score two tickets from the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.

The city agency has an agreement with the 49ers franchise that guarantees the agency several tickets to the game, along with a luxury box for the general manager.

As reported by The San Francisco Examiner on Friday, politicians are offered several free tickets for the 49ers games.

Now, the Recreation and Park Department is offering others a chance to win two tickets to the Sunday game where the 49ers will take on the New York Giants for the NFC Championship.

The agency said in social media posts and through a press release that two tickets will be awarded to the biggest fan of the Recreation and Park Department. To win, fans need to tweet or post on the agency’s Facebook page why they love Rec and Park. The winning entry will be announced at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Winning tickets to the game could save hundreds if not thousands of dollars for the lucky fans, since resale prices for the sold-out game have been soaring.

The contest is also similar to a contest that 49er owner Jed York held. In that contest, a couple with a baby born during the 49ers Divisional game won two tickets to Sunday’s game.
