  • Overwhelming: Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, had a breakdown upon learning of her mother’s death.

Whitney Houston’s death was due to her mixing alcohol and prescription pills, not drowning, TMZ reports.

When sources initially told the paparazzi site the late singer was found in the bathtub, her head submerged underwater, there was speculation she might have drowned.

But now the site reports that officials from the coroner’s department told the family there was not enough water found in Whitney’s lungs to indicate she drowned — instead, she may well have died before her head made contact with the water.

Either way, a tragic loss of a talent gone far too soon.

Bobbi’s Breakdown

After her mother was found dead, Bobbi Kristina Brown, 18, had a “complete breakdown,” a source told People magazine. The only child of the tragic superstar and ex-husband Bobby Brown was reportedly rushed to a hospital around 11 p.m. that evening.

After the singer was found unresponsive in her Beverly Hills hotel room, “[Bobbi Kristina] was screaming, ‘What’s wrong with her? What’s wrong with her?” the source relayed.

The next morning, Bobbi Kristina reportedly returned to the same medical facility.

“She went back to the hospital for the same thing — stress and anxiety,” the family insider said. The teen is said to have been treated and cleared for release.

Her father, despite being scheduled to perform in Nashville on Sunday night, rushed to Los Angeles to be by her side.

“Bobby had a blank stare and looked exhausted,” an onlooker who saw him with his entourage told People. “His friends seemed concerned about him, and they surrounded him as they walked through the airport.”

Here’s hoping Whitney’s surviving loved ones can pick up the pieces together.

Jen’s Divorce Heartbreak

Jennifer Garner is opening up about her failed first marriage to actor Scott Foley. Now happily married to Ben Affleck, the actress confesses that going through a divorce was “crushing.”

“Everyone reaches maturity at different times. I wish I’d known to wait for marriage until I was 30 or over,” the star explained to the U.K.’s Sun. “I did marry in my 20s, and I found divorce a crushing experience.”

“I thought the divorce statistics would never apply to me,” confided the mom of Violet and Seraphina. “I was beyond heartbroken when they did.”

But “I got up and got on with it. I also kept my belief in marriage,” Jen declared. “I did not have a fairy tale vision of the future, but I still believed I would find someone to commit to and raise kids with.”

Now, however, her life seems pretty close to a fairy tale.

“Ben is not only my husband, he has helped me in every way. He is the base of my life,” she says. “He is an incredibly loving and generous man. I expected he would be a great dad, and he is. But what really surprised me was how, when something goes wrong, he is so much calmer than I am.”

OK, you don’t have to brag about it. … Happy Valentine’s Day to the Afflecks, and to everyone else out there who’s in love or looking for it.
