Weekend of slayings boosts city's tally 

Two people were shot to death duringthe weekend, bringing the amount of people killed in The City this year to 33.

A Vallejo man and a San Francisco resident, the two latest victims of homicide, died in separate instances that occurred within 15 minutes of each other Friday night in Bayview-Hunters Point and the Mission district.

At 10:47 p.m. officers received reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of McKinnon Avenue. Keith Johnson, 24, of Vallejo, was already dead when authorities arrived.

Minutes later, about 11 p.m., officers received reports of a shooting at Mission and 19th streets. Santos Rafael Canto-Aldana, 21, of San Francisco, died at San Francisco General Hospital as a result of that shooting.

No suspects have been arrested in connection with either homicide. There were 30 killings reported during the same time frame in 2007.
