Weather causing SFO flight delays

Weather on Monday morning at San Francisco International Airport may result in some delays of more than 100 minutes, an airport official said.

SFO officials are reporting 80 cancellations of flights and delays of up to 109 minutes. The airport is instituting a ground delay program, which is slowing the rate of arrivals.

The ground delay program started at 8 a.m. and is planned to last until midnight, though it could end earlier.

"It's all up to Mother Nature," the official said.

Flights to San Francisco from all over the country are being affected by the latest storm in the Bay Area, the official said.

Airport officials suggest that passengers check with their airline before heading to the airport.
