Water utility dupes searchers with fake website 

Anybody who types “Central Basin Municipal Water District” into a Google News search is taken to a legitimate-looking news website called News Hawks Review. The site is packed full of upbeat stories about the 2 million-customer city of Commerce, water utility. However, an investigation found that Central Basin secretly paid $200,000 in taxpayer money to a PR consultant to create promotional stories “written in the image of real news” and post them on a bogus news site.
