VMI beats Radford 65-60 

Stan Okoye scored 23 points and made a game-high nine free throws as Virginia Military Institute beat Radford 65-60 in Big South Conference action Thursday night.

After Radford (4-19, 1-10) scored five straight to go up 35-32, the Keydets responded with a 15-1 run to take their largest lead of the contest, 47-36, with 11:14 to play. The Highlanders slowly chipped away at the deficit and cut it to three on an R.J. Price trey with 32 seconds left, but were unable to get closer.

Both teams got to the free-throw line 30 times. VMI (11-10, 6-5) made 20 of its attempts, while the Highlanders shot just 53 percent (16 of 30).

Despite holding a 36-29 rebounding advantage, Radford committed 22 turnovers.

Javonte Green, the lone Highlander in double figures, finished with 23 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while going 8 of 12 from the floor.
