Visitacion Valley shooting may be gang-related

Four people were shot Wednesday morning at a Visitacion Valley home and one of them is hanging on to life.

One of the four was standing outside and while the other three were in a garage at a home in the unit block of Arleta Avenue around 10 a.m. when a person approached them, opened fire then fled in a getaway car, according to police.

What appears to be a gang-related shooting sent all four to the hospital, leaving one fighting for life, said Officer Albie Esparza.

Police are still searching for the suspect and the getaway car.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m., Mayor Gavin Newsom arrived at the crime scene. The area around the tan, two-story home on Arleta Avenue remained blocked off for the police investigation.

The shooting comes a day and a half after The City saw its 13th homicide this year that also appeared to be gang-related, but preliminary reports have not connected the incidents, Esparza said.

On Monday night, police found Cameron Enis, 19, shot to death on a sidewalk in the Oceanview neighborhood and they are still looking for the suspect.
