Victim forgives attacker, not himself in Tenderloin stabbing

A man told police he stabbed himself in the chest in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district Wednesday.

But that’s not what witnesses said. They told cops the 49-year-old man was stabbed by an unknown assailant at Eddy and Mason streets around 5 a.m., police said.

The victim was taken to the hospital for his minor cut and no arrest has been made.
