Vandals still tipping the parks' charts

Forty percent of 105 observations about The City’s parks in February had to do with graffiti, but that’s a familiar song.

The difference is that these reports have made it easier for Rec and Park to respond to them, as they did 82 percent of the time last year.

The Neighborhood Parks Council’s monthly report charts out the numbers from anyone who calls 311 or visits their Web site and makes an observation – from drainage issues to compliments.

Here’s a list of the parks that were most talked about in February, by number of calls and comments to the Web site:

Mission Dolores Park: 7
Moscone Recreation Center: 7
Victoria Manalo Draves Park: 7
Civic Center Plaza: 6
McLaren Park: 6
Sutro Heights: 6

However, because people only really report complaints, just 4 percent of the observations in February were flattering.
