USF volleyball part of cancer fundraiser

USF is one of seven West Coast Conference women's volleyball teams participating in Dig for a Cure, a program that raises money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Dons have two matches that will contribute to the cause: the Oct. 11 match at Loyola Marymount and the Oct. 27 home match vs. San Diego.

"The WCC is proud to participate in the 'Dig for the Cure' program," WCC commissioner Michael Gilleran said. "This is an excellent opportunity for our student-athletes to use their talents to help a very worthy cause."

WCC fans can sponsor their respective teams by pledging money per dig by their school in their selected match or they can make a flat donation. The money raised by each institution goes directly to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
