USF grad gets WCC post 

USF grad Christine Halsey has been named director of compliance for the West Coast Conference, commissioner Michael Gilleran said Friday.

Halsey has spent the last three years with the California Collegiate Athletic Association and before that served as the WCC's championships and marketing assistant.

At the CCAA, Halsey was the assistant commissioner for compliance and the senior woman administrator for the NCAA Division II league that includes San Francisco State.

She earned a master's degree in sports management from USF and also worked as a freelance graphics operator for the Giants, A's and Warriors as well as an athletic event manager at Stanford.

Halsey competed in track and cross country at Vanderbilt, where she earned All-Southeastern Conference honors in cross country in 1997. She graduated from Vanderbilt with a bachelor's degree in communication studies.
