U.S. water polo team invades Bay Area 

The world champion U.S. women’s water polo team, which features five former Stanford and two ex-Cal stars, is in the Bay Area this week for a series of exhibition games against the Chinese national team.

In addition to games, the U.S. is practicing today, Wednesday and Friday at 8 a.m. at College of San Mateo.

On Thursday, USA water polo is hosting a P.A.C.E. (Programs for Athletes and Coaches Education) clinic at CSM at 8 a.m., followed by a Q&A session with the team.

Three games between the two national teams will be held, beginning today. Today’s game will be held at UC Davis at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday’s game is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon, and Thursday’s game will take place at Stanford at 7 p.m.

Tickets for each game are $9 general admission; $5 for children, students, and seniors.
