U.S. finishes strong in World Cup tuneup 

GRAN CANARIA, Spain -- Klay Thompson had 11 points and Warriors teammate Stephen Curry 10 as the U.S. men's basketball team beat Slovenia 101-71 in its final tuneup for the World Cup.

Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans led the Americans with 18 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots.

In four exhibition games, Curry averaged 11.8 points, 2.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 17.8 minutes per game, while Thompson had 11.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 21.8 minutes per game. Thompson, the subject of trade rumors this offseason, scored in double digits in all four games.

The U.S. opens World Cup play Saturday against Finland.
