UPDATE: Amber Alert issued for vehicle stolen with baby in backseat 

Updated May 31, 2011 at 4:52 p.m.: Police are still searching for the 1-month-old girl who was buckled into a baby seat in the back of a car that was stolen this afternoon from a church parking lot in Morgan Hill.

The baby girl has black hair and brown eyes, and is wearing a white onesie with a floral design, police said.


Morgan Hill police are asking for the public's help in locating a car stolen this afternoon with a baby in the back seat, police said.

One-month-old Hispanic girl Mariana Corona is said to have been in a 1991 white Infiniti Q45 with license plate number 5XJW448. Both the baby and the car were last seen in the parking lot of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish on Peak Avenue in Morgan Hill this afternoon. The keys were in the car when it was stolen.

The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for the vehicle at about 3 p.m.

Anyone who sees the car is asked to call Morgan Hill police at (408) 779-2101 or Sgt. Shane Palsgrove at (408) 461-6250.
