After saving his life, the relative of a suicidal man in Merced Heights was repaid with a hammer attack on his car Sunday, Taraval Station police said.

The concerned relative called cops around 10:20 p.m. about the distraught man who had a knife and threatened to kill himself. The relative snatched the knife away from his loved one, but didn’t receive much of a thank you, police said.
