Unholy terror steals kid’s iPhone outside church

He’ll probably receive a phone call from hell.

Police are hunting for an impious robber who swiped an iPhone from a 6-year-old boy outside a San Francisco church during prayer services last weekend.

About 7:20 p.m. Saturday, police said, officers responded to a Baptist church at Palou Avenue and Quint Street in the Silver Terrace neighborhood on a report of a robbery.

A 24-year-old woman told the officers that she and her 6-year-old son were attending services. At one point, she said, she allowed the child to go outside and play video games on her iPhone.

“As the boy sat outside the church playing with the phone, a suspect walked by and snatched the phone away from him,” police at the Bayview station said. The child was not injured, police said, but the suspect fled and was not found after a search of the area.

The suspect was described as a black man between 20 and 25, about 5-foot-8 and 200 pounds, wearing all dark clothing, said Officer Carlos Manfredi.

Anyone with information about the brazen robbery is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
