Unfulfilled promises from previous Obama speeches 

As President Barack Obama prepares to address the nation Tuesday night, promises from his previous two State of the Union addresses remain unfulfilled. Here's a look at some of them:


—Make a tuition tax credit permanent.

—Eliminate billions in taxpayer dollars to oil companies.

—Overhaul immigration and education laws.

—Reform the tax code to eliminate loopholes and lower corporate rates.


—Meet monthly with congressional Democratic and Republican leaders.

—Overhaul immigration and education laws.

—Slash tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas, and give them to companies that create jobs in the U.S.
