Two women assaulted in separate Hayes Valley, Lower Haight robberies 

Two women were assaulted and robbed by groups of young men within an hour of each other in the Hayes Valley and Lower Haight neighborhoods on Monday, police said.

The first incident occurred in the 700 block of Grove Street about 7:40 p.m. when two men in their late teens assaulted a 31-year-old woman, punching her multiple times, before taking her purse and fleeing on foot.

About 40 minutes later, in the 400 block of Fillmore Street, two men in their late teens tackled a 30-year-old woman, punching her numerous times, before taking her purse, laptop, cellphone and cash. The hoodlums met up with a third suspect and fled the scene on foot.

No arrests have been made. Police said the women were not seriously injured in the robberies.
