Two SF students visit Big Apple for poetry slam

It’s National Poetry Month, and two of San Francisco’s elementary school students traveled to the Big Apple this weekend to participate in the fourth annual America SCORES National Poetry Slam on Monday at the New York Stock Exchange. Ten-year-old, Lauren Reyes from Mission Education Center and 9-year-old, Matheus Davila from Junipero Serra Elementary School are in New York City for the first time. Both students are participants of America SCORES Bay Area, a nonprofit after-school program that provides soccer and literacy enrichment to more than 1,000 public school students in elementary school.
