Two robbed in Muni-related incidents

One man was robbed on a Muni bus in Crocker Amazon on Monday and another man was robbed after he exited a Muni bus in Visitacion Valley a few hours later, police said.

The first incident occurred about 6:28 p.m. in the 1700 block of Geneva Avenue. The 38-year-old victim was sitting on the bus when one of three men, all of whom appeared to be in their 20s, demanded the victim's cellphone, police said.

After the thugs began punching the victim, he turned over his phone and the trio fled.

The second incident occurred about 10:39 p.m. near Sunnydale Avenue and Sawyer Street. A 22-year-old man was on a Muni bus along with the four suspects who robbed him, police said.

As the victim got off the bus, the suspects followed and surrounded the man.

One of the crooks pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim and took his backpack, wallet, cash and smartphone.

A detailed description of the suspects was not provided. Police only said the three men fled toward the Sunnydale housing projects.
