A woman was shot while hanging laundry outside her Potrero Hill home early Thursday, only hours after a 59-year-old man in the Bayview district was plugged by a gunman described by police as barely a teenager.

About 1:30 a.m., according to police reports, a 49-year-old woman was standing in front of her home in the housing projects in the 900 block of Connecticut Street.

While hanging laundry, she reportedly heard gunshots and felt a stinging sensation in her leg. After realizing she had been shot, she had someone take her to a nearby hospital, but her injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said. No suspect was found.

About 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, police said, a man was shot in the arm while standing on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of Palou Avenue. The suspect was described as being between 13 and 16 years old, police said, but had not been found as of Thursday.

The man’s injuries also were not life-threatening, police said.
