Two men stabbed in separate incidents in SF 

Two men were stabbed in separate incidents in The City on Wednesday, police said.

About 5:20 p.m., a 53-year-old man was stabbed in the torso in South of Market by a man who appeared to be in his 50s, police said.

The victim was in the 400 block of Stevenson Street when the suspect reportedly came out of nowhere and started a fight with the victim before stabbing him, police said. The suspect fled.

The victim was hospitalized but is expected to survive.

Another man was stabbed later in the day in Bernal Heights. The 51-year-old victim was in the 500 block of Prentiss Street about 10 p.m. and was involved in an argument with a 74-year-old man, police said.

The older man reportedly stabbed the victim in the chest, police said. He was taken into custody by police.

The victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
