Two men identified in Saturday Bayview shooting

The two men arrested Saturday evening while fleeing the scene of a Bayview shooting have been identified by police.

Michael Essick and Olujimi “Charles” Mabrey, both 26, were booked on gang- and firearm-related charges when they bailed from a car at Oakdale Avenue and Keith Street around 6:25 p.m., Officer Albie Esparza said. Another suspect, who fled alongside them, got away.

Police recovered two firearms from the scene and shell casings at Ingalls Street and Revere Avenue. No injuries were reported but a vehicle was struck by gunfire.

Essick and Mabrey were arrested on suspicion of participating in a criminal street gang, felony gun-related charges and resisting, obstructing and delaying a peace officer. Mabrey is also charged with evading an officer with willful disregard.
