Officers responded to multiple reports of gunfire in the 400 block of Ninth Street just after 11 p.m. When they arrived, they heard more shots, apparently coming from a building on the block, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The weapon appeared to be a rifle. No one was injured, Esparza said.

After a two-hour police search, two men emerged from a building and were detained for questioning, police said.
