Two arrested in SoMa ATM robbery, kidnapping

A 51-year-old woman was robbed and kidnapped while using the ATM at a South of Market district bank Monday afternoon, police said.

Two suspects were arrested shortly after the woman was forced into a vehicle in front of the Wells Fargo Bank at Fourth and Brannan streets around 2:30 p.m.

One of the suspects, a 38-year-old woman, pulled the victim’s hair as she was using the ATM and ordered her to enter her PIN and withdraw money, a witness told police.

She then allegedly forced the victim into a waiting GMC truck, which was driven by a 55-year-old man, police said.

A bank manager jotted down the license plate number to the getaway vehicle, which helped police locate the car at Sixth and Harrison streets, police said.

The cops freed the woman and arrested the suspects on charges of robbery with force and kidnapping, police said.
