Treasure Island traffic could be slowed

Treasure Island officials plan to slow down traffic on two of the island’s main drags.

The Treasure Island Development Authority is in the early phases of investigating what types of traffic calming devices should be installed, Executive Director Mirian Saez said Thursday during a commission meeting.

Affected streets include the Avenue of the Palms, which is the waterfront street that runs almost parallel with the Embarcadero, and Gateview Avenue, according to Saez.

“This is an issue that was raised by the community,” Saez said.
