Treasure Island redevelopment project environmental review to be discussed

The draft environmental review of a high-profile redevelopment project that’s planned on land covering much of Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island is due to be discussed at City Hall this week.

More than 8,000 new homes, a marina, hotel, ferry terminal and new parks are planned to be built on the islands in the coming decades.

Commissioners overseeing the Treasure Island Development Authority and Planning Department are scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. Thursday to discuss the project’s draft environmental impact report.

The public can provide comments on the report during the hearing or by sending a letter to Bill Wycko, Environmental Review Officer, San Francisco Planning Department, 1650 Mission St., Suite 400, San Francisco, CA 94103.
