Transportation Authority to vote on Hunters Point transit plan

A project that outlines an ambitious transportation infrastructure for The City’s southeastern communities will be up for approval Tuesday at the San Francisco County Transportation Authority.

The Bayview-Hunters Points Neighborhood Transportation Plan calls for bus-rapid transit service, better connecting lines between Caltrain’s Bayshore Station and the Balboa Park BART Station, new pedestrian pathways and a network of bike paths. The new transit plan would be required to service the area as a result of the massive development project proposed for the Bayview-Hunters Point community.

On Tuesday, the SFCTA, a local transit agency that is governed by The City’s Board of Supervisors, will vote to offer support for the proposed transportation plan, which is expected to be fully implemented by 2030.
